France Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica and Vodafone were today licking their wounds after losing a bid to overturn EU caps on roaming fees.
Following the decision by the European Court of Justice, France Telecom said it was “disappointed” and questioned whether the best interests of the European market were being upheld.
Telefonica stated: “It is important to note that the mobile operators were not challenging the substance of the regulation per se, but the basis on which the regulation was justified, and so in turn ensure the EU takes proper consideration for future regulation.”
