Vivendi recently increased its stake in the operator to 81.8% and has now snapped up further shares as part of its objective to further consolidate its controlling interest in GVT, according to the French firm.
Vivendi acquired a majority stake in the Brazilian operator in late 2009 following a prolonged bidding race with Telefonica.
