Jordanian mobile operator Umniah will soon decide whether to employ 3G technology, according to CEO Ihab Hinnawi as cited by Dow Jones.
Speaking to journalists, he reportedly said that the Batelco-controlled company’s board would make a decision on the matter soon.
If the company does go ahead with this, it would invest US$100m to become the country’s third 3G operator behind Zain Jordan and Orange.
The company’s reported 2.2 million subscribers give it a 32% market share, according to the newswire.
