Turkish mobile operator Turkcell has been fined TRY139.2m (US$94.6m) for alleged tax irregularities in 2006, according to reports.
The reports suggest the allegations centre on Turkcell wrongly applying a discount on prepaid card sales to distributors.
The company has already reached settlements with Turkey’s Ministry of Finance Settlement Commission for similar tax irregularities in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Turkcell was unavailable for comment before the press deadline.
