Spanish Telefonica has closed a US$743m loan arranged by BBVA, Barclays and Banco Santander to be used to buy equipment from Finnish vendor NSN, a subsidiary of Nokia.
The financing is backed by Finnvera, the Finnish export credit agency, and its subsidiary Finnish Export Credit Ltd.
Further details were not available.
In June 2011 Telefonica had sealed a similar financing arrangement with a value of €376m, also to buy equipment from NSN. Lead arrangers at the time were SocGen and BBVA and it was also guaranteed by Finnvera.
