Mexican telecoms operator America Movil stated in a stock market filing yesterday that its shareholders have approved the acquisition of Carso Global Telecom and Telmex International.

Mexican telecoms operator America Movil stated in a stock market filing yesterday that its shareholders have approved the acquisition of Carso Global Telecom and Telmex International.
The deal was initially announced in mid-January.
Carso controls Mexico’s largest fixed operator Telefonos de Mexico and Telmex International.
If the deal is finalised, Carlos Slim’s America Movil has aired plans to delist both companies from the stock exchange.
