Yves Gauthier has been appointed new CEO of Egyptian mobile operator ECMS, which trades under the Mobinil brand.
He replaces Hassan Kabbani whose mandate expires in September and who will leave the company. ECMS chairman Alex Shalaby will act as interim CEO until Gauthier’s arrival on 15 November.
Gauthier has spent much of his career with the France Telecom-Orange group, where he held CEO or COO positions in different countries.
France Telecom and Orascom Telecom are the main shareholders of ECMS, which is listed on the Egyptian stock exchange.
