Spanish incumbent Telefonica has announced new management teams for its new Digital and Europe divisions.
Among the management team for Telefonica Digital will be Stephen Shurrock (Chief Commercial Officer), Antonio Marti (Chief Financial Officer) and Vivek Dev (Director Digital Services).
Telefonica also announced other appointments in the Digital unit, which covered strategy and business development, development and innovation, business and legal affairs, HR and other areas.
As reported previously, the new Telefonica Digital unit will be headed by Matthew Key, formerly head of Telefonica Europe. Key will be chairman and CEO of Telefonica Digital.
The new Telefonica Europe team now incorporates the Spanish operations, as well as those in the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Slovakia and the UK.
Chairman and CEO of Telefonica Europe will be Jose Maria Alvarez-Pallete, previously head of the company’s Latin America division.
The management team will be made up of the Telefonica CEOs from each of the countries: Luis Malvido (Czech Republic and Slovakia); Rene Schuster (Germany); Tony Hanway (Ireland); Luis Miguel Gilperez (Spain); Ronan Dunne (UK).
Other members of the management team include Pilar Lopez (Chief Financial Officer) and Richard Poston (Director Corporate Affairs).
On 6 September, Telefonica announced a major reorganisation, which would see the creation of a new Digital division and the incorporation of its Spanish operations into its European unit.
