Kazakhstan’s Kcell, a mobile subsidiary of Swedish incumbent TeliaSonera, has named Arti Ots as its new CEO.
He replaces CTO Rikard Slunga, who became interim chief in September following the departure of Ali Agan.
Ots most recently served as VP for commercial and business development at TeliaSonera Eurasia. Prior to that, he was CEO of Elion, TeliaSonera’s broadband and services division in Estonia.
Ots’ appointment comes a couple of months after Kcell hired Gary Mitchell Krasny as its acting finance director, succeeding Baurzhan Ayazbaev.
Kcell, Kazakhstan’s largest mobile operator, claimed to have about 14.3 million subscribers at the end of 2013.
