International Data Centre Group (IDC-G) has announced that Hawaii-based data centre group DRFortress has joined its alliance.
DRFortress offers data centre services, in addition to being the state’s only commercial internet exchange.
Managed locally by former employees of listed US data centre group Equinix, DRFortress serves customers including AT&T, Hawaiian Telecom, Qwest, Time Warner Telecom and Wavecom Solutions.
According to IDC-G, Honolulu, where DRFortress is based, is set to become a telecoms hub in the Pacific.
Speaking to TelecomFinance this month, IDC-G executive chairman Guy Willner said the alliance was hoping to have 15 members by summer.
