France Telecom has no intention to buy a large listed operator but will continue to expand in emerging markets such as Africa and Vietnam, CEO Didier Lombard was quoted saying in Les Echos.
The French telecoms incumbent also reportedly plans to have laid down its fibre network in 45 cities and Paris by 2012 and in all regions by the end of 2015. Investments will also be made in mobile networks to develop mobile internet technologies such as LTE.
Lombard is due to step down in the spring of 2011 and be replaced by the deputy CEO Stephane Richard.
