France Telecom may reconsider its presence in Austria, Belgium and Switzerland where it sees less potential to create value, according to media reports.
A spokesperson at the French company said: “We’re looking through our portfolio of assets and there some for which growth potential is less obvious like for example in Austria, Belgium and Switzerland. But there is currently no project to sell.”
France Telecom has recurrently said it was looking at acquisitions in emerging markets, where it is aiming to double its revenues by 2015.
Last year, the French operator completed the merger of its UK unit with Deutsche Telekom’s one to create Everything Everywhere and the two companies have since sealed network partnerships in Poland and Austria. Future agreements could also be signed in Romania and Slovakia.
