Irish incumbent Eircom has announced the launch of a low-cost mobile service brand eMobile.
The company’s existing Meteor brand will be retained for current customers, but the group plans to target the lower cost end of the market with its new brand, which will offer a variety of prepay and billpay plans.
Eircom is in the midst of a strategic review, as it considers how to resolve some E3.3bn in debt, with options under consideration including a restructuring, debt swap or a rights issue.
