WiMAX focused ChinaTel has stated that it is mulling acquisitions as a means of expanding its presence in the Latin American region, according to operations director Jose Arana.
The Chinese-US JV is especially interested in opportunities in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, with talks already underway. Any acquisitions would most likely be funded through the telco’s own resources. Columbia is also on the wish list.
