Indonesian mobile operators PT Telkom and Bakrie Telecom are in discussions to combine their CDMA services.
Telkom CEO Rinaldi Firmansyah reportedly announced that negotiations were taking place and that a number of options were being considered including Telkom buying a stake in Bakrie, the two operators merging their CDMA units and alternative options.
Telkom, which is 50% state-owned, and Bakrie Telecom operate CDMA services via the Flexi and Esia brands respectively and are likely to form a partnership of sorts by the start of 2011.
