UK incumbent BT has dismissed union threats of industrial action as “disproportionate” and “in no-one’s interest”.
This comes after last Friday’s announcement by the Communication Workers Union (CWU) that plans were underway for a strike ballot, following BT’s refusal to sweeten its 2% pay offer.
The telco argued that the pay rise, which has already been accepted by the Prospect union, would be worth about 4% to average union members due to the introduction of performance-related pay.
