Franco-American equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent is holding meetings in San Francisco this week to gauge interest for its enterprise business, Reuters reports quoting people familiar with the situation.
Siemens Enterprise Communications, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard and Avaya as well as private equity firms could be interested in the unit, which could be worth US$1bn.
Earlier reports this month suggested that advisers had started exploring different option such as a sale to a single buyer or an IPO for Alcatel-Lucent’s unit that sells handsets and other telecoms equipment to businesses.
The company was not immediately available for comments.
