Qualcomm has promoted Xiang Wang to senior vice president of Qualcomm and president of Qualcomm Greater China.
Wang replaces Frank Meng who is leaving the firm to pursue other interests.
Wang was formerly vice president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.
Jing Wang, executive vice president of Qualcomm for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, said: “I am pleased to announce Xiang Wang’s promotion. He is an experienced executive who successfully extended Qualcomm’s partnership to more than 50 Chinese manufacturing customers. Xiang’s strong technology background in the semiconductor industry and close relationship with the ecosystem will lead Qualcomm to the next level of success in Greater China. Frank’s leadership to the China team in the last eight years has been instrumental for the growth of Qualcomm’s China business. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Wang worked for various companies including Motorola and Lucent/Agere. Wang will continue to manage Qualcomm’s CDMA Technologies division in China.
