French media and telecoms group Vivendi has confirmed it will nominate its second-largest shareholder, billionaire industrialist Vincent Bollore, to the supervisory board at its next AGM.
Vivendi first announced in December that Bollore, chairman and CEO of Paris-listed Bollore Group – which focuses on transport and logistics, communications and media and electricity storage – would join the board.
Paris-based Vivendi said four other new members will also be nominated at the 30 April AGM: Air France CEO Alexander Juniac; former Apple CEO and VP for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa Pascal Cagni (currently advisor to the supervisory board); advertising and marketing firm 1000mercis co-founder Yseulys Costes; and Vivendi investor relations staff member and shareholder Nathalie Bricault.
In the midst of an in-depth strategic review, Vivendi is currently assessing bids for its 53% stake in Morocco’s Maroc Telecom. The company is also looking to sell Brazilian telco GVT, however this process is said to have been delayed as received bids were deemed unsatisfactory. Vivendi has repeatedly denied reports that it might also sell French telecoms unit SFR.
