Liberty Global’s UPC Poland has named Zoltan Bodnar as its new CFO from 1 October, replacing Chris Biedermann.
Bodnar has been CFO of the Europe-focused cable giant’s Hungarian unit, UPC Hungary, since 2009.
In his more than 20-year career, Bodnar has held management roles with multinationals in various market segments, the Warsaw-based unit said in a statement. He has had a particular focus on finance, logistics, accounting, planning, analysis, risk management and control, the company added.
UPC Poland’s new managing director Ramiro Lafarga Brollo, who started this July, described Bodnar’s knowledge of the cable industry in Central and Eastern Europe as “a vital asset”.
No reason was given for the departure of Biedermann, who started as CFO in December 2012.
UPC Poland is the nation’s largest cable TV operator with about 2.7 million service subscribers represented by 1.4 million customers as of 30 June. The triple-play operator is the largest of Liberty’s operations in CEE in terms of revenue.
