According to the Financial Times, the government has begun to action plans to free up airwaves, which would enable operators to provide faster wireless broadband and enhance the level of service in rural areas.
The spectrum is of vital importance if the UK is to provide next generation mobile broadband nationwide.
“Releasing and liberalising spectrum in a timely manner will allow UK consumers to benefit from a range of innovative wireless services,” Ofcom reportedly said.
