Australian incumbent Telstra has promoted its products director Warwick Bray to CFO.
Bray, who has more than 25 years of experience in finance and strategy, will replace Andrew Penn tomorrow when he becomes CEO of the telco.
“Warwick has decades of knowledge in and around telecommunications and technology and significant financial experience proven by his business results in Telstra and other companies,” Penn said.
Bray had been Telstra’s group managing director for products since 2013. He joined the group in 2009 as head of corporate strategy, after working in a number of investment banking roles at groups including Taemas Bridge in Australia and Babcock and Brown in London.
His promotion comes following the departure of former CEO David Thodey, who announced plans to retire in February after six years at the helm.
Karsten Wildberger, Telstra’s consumer managing director, will also assume responsibility as GMD Products while a permanent replacement is determined.
