TeliaSonera has appointed Valdo Kalm to head up its newly-merged Estonian brands EMT and Elion, effective 1 April.
The Swedish telco’s “new operating model” in Estonia is designed to ensure customers have access to its full range of telecoms and ICT services, the company said in a statement. At present, EMT provides mobile services while Elion provides fixed-line services.
Kalm has been with the TeliaSonera group since 2000, serving as head of Elion until 2003, when he started his current role as head of EMT.
Kalm noted that EMT and Elion are already cooperating closely and described their combination as “the next logical step”. Elion’s current head Arti Ots will assist with the transition process and his new role will be revealed “in the near future”, the company said.
TeliaSonera has majority-owned operations in the Nordics and Baltics as well as in Eurasia and Spain and associated companies in Russia, Turkey and Latvia.
