Swedish incumbent telco TeliaSonera has appointed Swisscom’s Henriette Wendt to its new role of head of group corporate development.
Wendt, who is currently head of corporate strategy and participation management at the Swiss telco, will be responsible for TeliaSonera’s M&A and business development.
She is due to join the group at the end of August at the latest.
TeliaSonera CEO Johan Dennelind said: “Her experience from senior positions in the field of strategy and business development at Swisscom and Motorola in the past ten years will be very valuable for TeliaSonera going forward.”
The move follows the recent appointment of Andreas Ekström, its previous head of investor relations, to lead its M&A team.
Last month TeliaSonera promoted acting chief financial officer Christian Luiga to senior vice president and CFO, permanently replacing Per-Arne Blomquist who was fired as part of its review into deals made in Eurasia following controversy in Uzbekistan.
It was part of a far-reaching board shake-up that followed criticism over the telco’s lack of due diligence in a 3G licence deal in Uzbekistan.
TeliaSonera also announced today that Karin Eliasson, its head of group human resources, has decided to leave to pursue a new opportunity.
And Ingrid Stenmark, who has held positions at the telco including acting general counsel, has been promoted to head of the CEO office, responsible for shareholdings in Russia’s MegaFon and Turkey’s Turkcell.
