Austrian investor Ronny Pecik, who has accumulated around 21% of shares in Telekom Austria, has reportedly teamed up with Russian billionaire Jelena Baturina.
Her double digit million euro investment will enable Pecik to increase his stake in TA to 25%, according to news services quoting Austrian business magazine Format, giving him a blocking minority.
The Format report referred to unnamed “reliable sources”.
Jelena Baturina is the wife of the former mayor of Moscow, Juri Luschkow.
Pecik was quoted recently as saying that he was not planning changes to the size of its investment in Telekom Austria.
