Indian operator Tata Communications has appointed Vinod Kumar as managing director and CEO of the company.

Indian operator Tata Communications has appointed Vinod Kumar as managing director and CEO of the company.
He replaces N Srinath, who will serve as MD and CEO at cellco Tata Teleservices and Tata Teleservices Maharashtra as of 1 February 2011.
Srinath, who had been named MD and CEO in 2007, will continue to be a non-executive on the board of Tata Communications and some of its subsidiaries.
Kumar reportedly joined the company in 2004 as MD for the company’s international operations. He was later appointed as COO and currently manages the Global Data Business unit.
