Connectivity Business News will host the webinar “Decoding direct-to-device: How will machines connect us in 2024?” on Tuesday, April 9, at 11 a.m. EST.
The global satellite direct-to-device market is to generate $93 billion in cumulative revenues by 2031, according to Northern Sky Research.
This free webinar will address IoT, direct-to-device and machine-to-machine technologies, and their contemporary barriers and proposed solutions, readying attendees to confront the growing connectivity industry in 2024 and beyond.
The April webinar features a slate of panelists from companies that this quarter have taken steps to expand their direct-to-device and IoT offerings. Panelists include:
- Chris Baird, chief executive at terrestrial connectivity provider OptConnect;
- Tarun Gupta, co-founder and chief product officer at nonterrestrial network service operator Skylo Technologies; and
- Mahmoud Khafagy, director of product management at direct-to-device company Lynk Global.
OptConnect last month announced its acquisition of Chilean IoT company M2M DataGlobal, while Skylo raised $37 million in a series C funding round and certified new devices over its network, including Samsung’s LSI 5400 5G chipsets and Android’s Ulefone Armor 23 Ultra smartphones, the companies recently shared with CBN.
Meanwhile, Lynk on March 12 announced the successful deployment of two additional satellites the company refers to as “cell towers in space,” via the March 4 Transporter 10 rideshare mission. Lynk, operates five satellites, plans to build a 50-satellite constellation for its direct-to-device service by yearend, according to a June 2023 statement from Chief Executive Charles Miller.
Tune in for this crucial discussion, moderated by Connectivity Business News Deputy Editor Laurence Russell, on the status of the direct-to-device market, the factors driving its growth and what the industry must do to maximize the market’s potential.
