Altice has named the top management of its new division, Altice USA, after completing the acquisition of US cableco Suddenlink.
Altice (AMS:ATC) has named the top management of its new division, Altice USA, after completing the acquisition of US cableco Suddenlink.
Heading up the unit will be group CEO Dexter Goei, who becomes executive chairman. Group COO Michel Combes will coordinate US operations with those of the rest of the group. Reporting to them will be co-presidents Charles Stewart and Hakim Boubazine.
Goei, who joined Altice as CEO in 2009, is credited with helping to lead the group’s development and growth from a French cable operator to a multinational fixed and mobile telecoms operator serving residential and business customers in 16 markets.
Prior to joining Altice, he spent 15 years in investment banking at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, where he rose through the ranks to become co-head of European TMT. He is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
Charles Stewart, who becomes co-president and CFO, is a 21 year veteran of corporate finance and investment banking in the US, Latin America and Europe.
He moves from Itau Unibanco, where he was CEO of wholesale banking in Europe, the US and Asia. Prior to that, he spent 19 years at Morgan Stanley, specialising in US cable, broadcast and publishing before his promotion to deputy head of EMEA investment banking. He is a graduate of Yale University.
Hakim Boubazine, who has been named co-president and COO, joined the group in 2014 as CEO of Altice Dominican Republic, a triple play operator serving 4 million customers.
Prior to Altice, Hakim was CEO of ERT Group, which designs, builds and operates next generation cable and fibre networks in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the French West Indies. Before joining the telecom industry, he spent ten years in oil and gas, holding senior management roles in EMEA, Asia and North America.
He holds an engineering degree from the École Centrale de Lyon, a masters in theoretical physics from the University of Strasbourg, and a postgraduate in petroleum engineering & management from Imperial College London.
