Facing a potential sale of its Brazilian business, the entrance of a second French telecoms investor into its shareholding, and the implementation of Italy’s national high-speed broadband plan, Telecom Italia has released CEO Marco Patuano from his interim role heading up regulatory affairs.
Telecom Italia (BIT:TIT) has appointed Cristoforo Morandini to the new role of Chief of Regulatory Affairs and Equivalence, effective today.
Morandini will manage the regulatory affairs and equivalence department, which oversees relations with regulatory and antitrust authorities.
Morandini moves from EY, where he was a partner on the TMT team.
Telecom Italia recently separated its public and regulatory affairs division, which had since 2011 been chaired by Franco Brescia. Brescia is now head of public affairs, while CEO Marco Patuano until today’s appointment chaired the regulatory affairs division. An organisational chart is here.
Previously, he co-founded telecoms consultancy Between, and the Osservatorio Banda Larga (Broadband Observatory).
