Paraguayan telecoms regulator Conatel today launched the tender of 4G-suitable spectrum in the 1700 MHz to 2100 MHz band.
The companies that participated in the public consultation were state-owned incumbent Copaco, Telecom Personal’s number two cellcoNúcleo, América Móvil’s Claro and Millicom’s Tigo.
Bids are due by 3 December at 9am, and will be opened on the same day at 10am, according to Conatel’s website.
The government hopes to raise at least US$90m from the tender, which comprises 60 MHz of spectrum to be sold in 5 MHz blocks worth at least US$15m per block.
Copaco plans to offer further spectrum in the 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz bands in 2016.
