Qatari telco Ooredoo has announced a management reshuffle at both group and domestic level.
Qatari telco Ooredoo Group (QA:ORDS) has appointed Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani as CEO, succeeding Nasser Mohammed Marafih. Marafih will join the board of directors, replacing Omer Abdulaziz Al-Hamed Al-Marwani and advising the chairman of the board of directors, Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Bin Saud al Thani.
Waleed Mohamed Al–Sayed in the meantime has been appointed group deputy CEO and CEO of Ooredoo Qatar. Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi has become COO of the domestic business, replacing Waleed Al-Sayed.
Chairman al Thani thanked Dr Nasser for “his valuable contributions and effort…persistence and hard work,” and wished the new CEO “success in leading the group at this exciting period which will witness a lot of developments in the telecoms industry.”
As of September 2015, Ooredoo has 114.9 million customers across Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Iraq, Palestine, the Maldives, Myanmar and Indonesia.
The company reported revenues of US$9.1bn in 2014.
