Batelco has appointed Ihab Hinnawi group CEO, 11 months after he became the Bahraini incumbent’s acting group CEO. During that time, he has retained his role as CEO of Umniah, Batelco’s Jordanian business, which is back on the block.
Batelco (BSE:BATELCO) has appointed Ihab Hinnawi group CEO, 11 months after he became the Bahraini incumbent’s acting group CEO.
He has during that time retained his role as CEO of Batelco’s Jordanian unit, Umniah, which he helped launch after the company won the country’s third mobile licence in 2004. He became CEO of Umniah, which is back on the block in a process led by Citigroup, in 2007.
Other experience includes being general manager of the enterprise division at Batelco Bahrain.
The company veteran is credited with skills including increasing revenue, effecting management change, developing new businesses, managing high stake negotiations, strategic planning, developing key partnerships, building corporate and marketing strategy, effecting risk management and leading organisational restructuring.
Batelco chairman Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said Hinnawi had the ongoing support of the board of directors and group executive teams.
In August, Muna Al Hashemi became CEO of Batelco’s Bahraini subsidiary.
