India-based Quippo Telecom Infrastructure is looking to raise as much as Rs17bn (E279m) from the sale of its stake in Indian telecom tower company Wireless Tata Tele Info Services (WTTIL), according to the Economic Times website quoting a person familiar with the situation.
Three private equity firms, including SBI Macquarie, are reportedly buying WTTIL’s stake.
WTTIL is the result of a merger between telecom tower operations of Tata Teleservices and Quippo in January 2009.
Quippo and Tata Teleservices were not available for comment.
