Didier Charvet has been appointed CEO of mobile operator Orange Tunisie, replacing Thierry Marigny.
Charvet has held various positions within the France Telecom-Orange group for 24 years, including in Egypt, Mexico, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Marigny is leaving the role as CEO of Orange Tunisie to become France Telecom group’s brand director.
Orange Tunisie is the smallest of the country’s three mobile operators.
In March last year, the then-interim government took over the 51% stake in the operator held by the son-in law of ousted president Zine el-abidine Ben Ali, according to reports. The remaining 49% stake is held by France Telecom.
