US based mobile VC firm Nexit Ventures announced a E4m investment in Danish based Octoshape, a firm specialising in high-quality, large-scale and cost-effective internet and mobile media delivery, which allows real-time video experience on fixed and mobile networks.
Octoshape has a patented Infinite Edge technology which lets users access true HD quality video regardless of the device or the location. The technology has already been used for PGA and NBA events, as well as Eurovision, and the US President Obama’s Inauguration. The company states that it offers broadcasters and content delivery networks efficient and economical internet video delivery.
Nexit Ventures focuses on wireless technologies and services. The company invests primarily in Nordic and US early-stage companies with global potential, and it states that for Nordic based firms it provides a bridge to Silicon Valley markets and exit opportunities, while for US companies it brings Nordic and European market insight, customer access and technology resources. The company has offices in Helsinki, Stockholm and Silicon Valley.
