Paul Taylor took up the position of new CEO of Botswana Telecommunication Corporation on 20 July.
Taylor, a British citizen, was previously deputy chief commercial officer of Turk Telekom. He was leading the Commercial and Operations team when the Turkish incumbent went public.
Last year, the authorities announced plans to list 49% of the fixed-line operator on the Botswana Stock Exchange after the end of the financial year in March 2011.
Botswana has recurrently revived plans to privatise the operator since 2006, setting deadlines that slipped by with no deal ever taking place.
Taylor replaces Thapelo Lippe.
