O’Hara joined Intelsat in 2017, serving as managing director of sales and key account director prior to his current role. He was previously CEO at KlowdTV and served four years at the Defense Information Systems Agency in various roles, including as an information security officer.
O’Hara’s vision for Intelsat involves continuing to curate valuable video neighborhoods that reach millions of viewers with a single signal and achieve seamless global distribution with a simple hand-off. The company will focus on new edge networks, which “creates a seamless video consumption experience across traditional and new content watching methods,” O’Hara told Connectivity Business News.
Last month, Intelsat launched an electronic program guide called “VideoNow” to help viewers better navigate satellite TV programming, according to the company website. “By providing G-19 viewers with easy access to their favorite content, we’re also creating new monetization opportunities for our customers by increasing the visibility of channel lineups and providing more engagement and promotion opportunities,” O’Hara said in a release.
