BT has joined ETNO while Lise Fuhr has been hired as director general of the lobby group to fill the void left by Daniel Pataki.
Lise Fuhr has been hired as director general of lobby group ETNO,which represents European incumbents, following a recruitment process that began in January.
Joining in January 2016, Fuhr succeeds Daniel Pataki, who at the start of this year left to become VP for regulation at the GSMA.
Currently COO of DK Hostmaster and DIFO, the company managing the .dk domain name, Fuhr will run ETNO’s office and represent the association in Brussels and beyond.
Fuhr previously spent nine years at Nordic operator Telia Networks, part of TeliaSonera.
In a statement, ETNO’s executive board said: “Lise Fuhr has a unique experience in tech and telecoms, having worked on both the commercial and policy side of the digital economy.
“She is the right person to lead the contribution of the telecoms industry to EU digital reform at such a crucial time.”
Elsewhere, ETNO chairman Steven Tas was re-elected as chairman for a second term havingjoinedat the start of this year, and the trade body welcomed a new member.
UK incumbentBT(LON:BT) will join ETNO in January and take a seat on its executive board.

BT’s membership comes at a time when Britain’s future in the European Union appears uncertain, with the country preparing a referendum on whether it should remain part of the politico-economic union.
