Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann has suggested that the German telecoms industry will be boosted by investment of up to E50bn by the year 2020.
In an interview with Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Obermann said that all players were likely to spend a combined E40bn-E50bn on enhancing infrastructure and services.
Meanwhile, Germany’s mobile spectrum auction is into its third week with total bids of around E1.6bn recorded at the end of yesterday.
Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, KPN and Telefonica are bidding for the 800 megahertz, 1.8 gigahertz, 2.0GHz and 2.6GHz spectrum.
