French regulator ARCEP announced it has received four applications for 2.6 GHz licences.
Unsurprisingly, 3G licence holders Bouygues Telecom, Free Mobile, Orange and SFR have applied for the 4G licences.
The deadline to submit applications was today [Thursday, 15 September] at noon.
The regulator said that the results of the procedure were expected to be announced by mid-October.
Meanwhile the deadline for applications for 800 MHz licences is 15 December.
France is expecting to raise at least E2.5bn from the sale of 4G frequencies.
