Germany’s mobile spectrum auction saw operators bid a total of E191.4m in the first week of the process.
The latest estimates suggest that between them Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone, Telefonica and KPN will spend E8bn on frequency, which is seen as vital to roll out LTE networks in the future.
KPN subsidiary E-Plus has so far submitted the highest offer for the sought after 800MHz frequency – the Dutch firm has bid E15.13m for a 10MHz block. Deutsche Telekom has bid E13.47m each for two blocks in the same frequency band, while Vodafone has offered E13.41m apiece for two blocks.
