Moldova’s National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) has reportedly agreed to suspend Eventis Mobile for an additional two months at the request of the mobile operator’s insolvency administrator.
The regulator initially suspended Eventis’ GSM licence in February for not complying with licence requirements but the operator filled for bankruptcy in April.
ANRCETI said that in December 2009 it found that the operator had failed to meet its obligation to cover 60% of the population and operate at least 340 base stations by the end of 2009.
The company was granted its 900-1800 licence in December 2006 and it launched services a year later.
The ANRCETI said that the operator had over 11,800 subscribers at the end of 2009.
