TDC (CPH:TDC) has parted company with Carsten Dilling, its CEO of the last three years, with immediate effect, days after the Danish incumbent reported disappointing Q2 results.
Pernille Erenjberg has been promoted to replace Dilling. She has been Copenhagen-based TDC’s CFO since 2011 and was given additional deputy CEO responsibilities in January.
Alongside Dilling’s CEO responsibilities, Erenbjerg will also assume his chairmanships at a number of TDC subsidiaries, including TDC Sweden and GET in Norway, and continue as CFO until a replacement is found. Dilling will advise Erenbjerg in the coming months.
The management change follows TDC’s disappointing performance in its home market of Denmark over the last few quarters.
Two equity analysts told TelecomFinance suggested that Dilling’s departure was not a direct result of the Q2 results, but more the financial and operational performance of the operator over a longer period.
Dilling was promoted from vice president of operations to CEO in 2012, replacing the outgoing Henrik Poulsen. He spent eight years on the company’s corporate management team.
Erenbjerg has been at TDC since 2003 and in charge of the group’s finances since 2008. She sits on the board of biotech firm Genmab, the Danish Royal Theatre and ferry company DFDS.
