Thai telcos Advanced Info Service (AIS) and Total Access Communication (DTAC) are reportedly set to announce a tower sharing deal tomorrow.
Spokespeople for the two companies were not available for comment by press time.
According to local newspaper The Nation, which cited a source at DTAC, the agreement will enable that group to expand its wireless broadband service.
AIS operates a reported 20,000 towers, while DTAC has 12,000.
The country welcomed its first ever tower sharing deal last October, when Telenor-owned DTAC agreed to lease 100-115 masts from True Telecommunications Growth Infrastructure Fund (Truegif), which is partly held by smaller rival True Corp.
DTAC is also in talks with state-owned telco CAT Telecom about a possible infrastructure joint venture.
