Satellite imagery provider DigitalGlobe has announced plans
to appoint Jeffrey Tarr, currently COO of US consultancy IHS,
as its president and CEO on 5 April.
Tarr will replace Jill Smith, who announced her intention to
leave as CEO and chairman last September to spend more
time with her family.
DigitalGlobe has also named current independent board
member Howell Estes, a retired US Air Force general, as its
new chairman.
“Jeff is the most qualified person to lead DigitalGlobe as it
continues to expand its ability to deliver timely, accurate and
essential information to government and commercial customers
around the world,” said Estes, who led the CEO search.
