Argentinean mobile operator Claro is according to local reports planning to invest approximately US$800m throughout 2010, predominantly on its 3G and fibre optic networks.
In 2009, Claro’s total capital expenditure stood at US$700m, but for this year it is expected to rise to US$800m. Around 70% of this will be used for the 3G and fibre optic networks, the telco’s president Carlos Zenteno is reported to have said. The telco’s 3G network currently covers some 80% of the Argentinean population and demand is rising.
Claro Argentina is 100% owned by Mexican based America Movil.
