Brazil Tower Company (BTC) has appointed Javier Rodriguez Garcia as chairman of its board of advisers.
Rodriguez was previously at Telefonica Brazil, which operates as Vivo, and ended his 14 year spell at the Spanish telco in May. He was the executive director of networks at the wireless operator, and was previously chief technology officer.
Alex Sepehri-Nik, president of BTC, said: “Javier had the opportunity [at Telefonica Brazil] to command the planning and deployment of what many consider the best network in Brazil … the addition of Javier to the BTC team clearly strengthens us to better support our customer needs and long term goals.”
Headquartered in Sao Paulo, BTC formed in August 2011. It operates and develops towers, leasing out space to multiple operators.
