Advisory details for Axiata’s issue of US$300m 5.375% guaranteed notes due 2020 have been released.
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley were the joint global coordinators. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and CIMB Bank were the joint bookrunners and joint lead managers for the notes.
Herbert Smith advised the firm on the legal side of affairs.
The notes will be listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and the Labuan International Financial Exchange.
The 10-year Fixed Rate guaranteed notes mark the first bond issuance by Axiata after its restructuring in 2008. The net proceeds of the issue will be used to refinance the existing borrowings.
The Herbert Smith team was led by Hong Kong corporate partner Kevin Roy. Hong Kong corporate partner Carolyn Sng handled the Hong Kong listing aspects. Roy said: “We were delighted to be able to assist Axiata on its first bond issue. We hope this serves as a model transaction as we grow our capital markets practice in Southeast Asia.”
