Communications infrastructure firm Arqiva has named former Marconi CEO Mike Parton as its new chairman.
He succeeds Peter Shore who had chaired the British group’s board since 2007.
Parton was once CEO of the now defunct Marconi from 2001 up until its sale to Ericsson in 2006.
He has been chairman of Swedish mobile operator Tele2 and communications solutions group Damovo since 2007, but relinquished his role at Damovo earlier this year following its sale to Daisy Group. Parton will continue as chair of Tele2 alongside his new post at Arqiva.
Arqiva provides television, radio, satellite and wireless communications infrastructure in the UK, including 8,000 cell sites. It also has operations in Ireland, mainland Europe and the US.
