Brazilian telecoms regulator Anatel has cleared Vivendi’s takeover of GVT Holding, the holding company that controls fixed-line telco Global Village Telecom (GVT).
Vivendi gained control of GVT in late 2009 and increased its stake in the company to 99.2% in June 2010.
The deal still requires clearance from the Brazilian competition and antitrust authorities.
